Ridgeline recovery is the real deal. If you are looking to be healed and whole this is the place to do it. They don’t use a traditional 12 Step program which is what I love about it the most. It’s more realistic and relatable. Their staff is friendly and provides me with groceries and so many community resources to help with every area of need in my life. As well several different staff members have followed up with me regularly to check my progress and see if there was anything I needed help with. The teachers and owners are personable, fun and make me laugh. The empowerment sessions leave me motivated with the tools to move to the next level..out of recovery and into success. I’m so thankful for this program and its staff. Also they take Medicaid. I never thought I would want to attend 3 sessions a week but once I took one class I wanted to be involved and was genuinely engaged in taking more classes. Thank you Ridgeline!

Getting Back on Track with Medication-Assisted Treatment in Columbus, Ohio

Addiction can affect every part of a person’s life — their health, relationships, stability, and sense of self. For many, the journey to recovery is not just about willpower or desire. It requires medical support, structure, and a plan built on real evidence. That’s where Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) plays a critical role.

In Columbus, Ohio, MAT has become a trusted approach for individuals struggling with opioid and alcohol use disorders. It involves the use of FDA-approved medications alongside therapy and behavioral health services. These medications don’t replace one addiction with another. Instead, they help reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, and create a more stable foundation for lasting recovery.

The stigma around MAT has begun to shift, but misinformation still exists. It’s important to recognize that MAT is not a shortcut or an easy way out — it’s a proven, medically supported step forward for people who want to reclaim their lives with dignity and support.

Who Is MAT a Good Fit For?

Not every path to recovery looks the same, and that’s okay. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) exists because some people need more than just willpower or talk therapy to get through early recovery. It’s not a shortcut — it’s a support system.

💊 MAT can be a strong option for:

  • Individuals who have tried to quit before but keep falling back into old patterns

  • People who experience intense cravings that feel impossible to manage alone

  • Anyone dealing with co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety or depression

  • Those who want a sense of stability as they ease into therapy, group work, or other recovery efforts

  • People looking for a structured approach that helps reduce risk of relapse

MAT is about creating space to heal with the help of medical support and ongoing care. In Columbus, Ohio, more and more individuals are finding success with this approach as part of their long-term recovery journey.
